What
are resource leveling and resource smoothing? Answer using your own
words but citing current scholarly research. What is the impact to the
critical path, and how is “float” used in leveling and smoothing
resources? Give an example of leveling and smoothing resources on a
project you know or can find through research.

Content

In Module 4, we identify and learn to apply PERT and CPM and we will
see a network diagram of our tasks. The tools we use help us represent
the important actions to complete the project and give us a way to
communicate quickly with the team. We will also consider crashing and
fast-tracking a project along with resource allocation.

Critical Thinking Assignment

In week 4, a critical thinking assignment is due. Choose one of the
two assignments options to complete this week. Do not do both
assignments. Identify your assignment choice in the title of your
submission.

• Review the rubric for the assignment so you would know how and what you are graded on.
• Support your paper with a minimum of two current (published in the
  most recent five years) scholarly sources from the CSU-Global Library,
  in addition to any course textbooks or lecture material you decide to
  use.
• Format your entire paper according to the CSU-Global Guide to Writing & APA (Links to an external site.). (Links to an external site.)
• Be clear, concise, and focused. Be sure to organize your writing
  properly and include an introduction; headings/subheadings for the body
  of your work; analysis and recommendations (if applicable); a
  conclusion; list of references; and an appendix.
