A midterm and final exam will cover material from the text, supplemental readings and videos. The exams will be set up in MyEconlab and will be set up so that you can choose when to take the exam, but they will also be timed. You cannot start it one day and come back the next as you can with other assignments. The purpose for the timed exam is to make testing fair for everyone. People with special testing needs will be accommodated (see section on Accommodation below.)

It will be your responsibility to ensure that you can take the exams during the time block that you choose- please do not take it somewhere like a public library, where your access may be cut off in the middle. If your computer is prone to failure, you might consider printing out the exam and marking your answers on it, so that you can still get credit for your work. You should also be careful about opening up multiple windows during the test, which can increase the chance of your computer/program freezing up. If you want to open up multiple windows, you might consider opening them up in different browsers to minimize the chance of program failure.

Exams provide an opportunity for students to determine if they are meeting course and institutional outcomes. Exams also provide valuable feedback to the instructor about the general progress of the class.
